Abrazo de sol

A couple of years ago, I took a picture of one of the sweetest scenes I´ve ever seen: my cats lying together on a chilly morning, basking in the sun. Every time I encounter this scenario, I stop to think about how cats are often misunderstood. They are believed to be solitary creatures, but in that moment, they are there, in front of me, keeping each other company, enjoying the sun. This image lives in my mind like a hug to the soul, a simple scene but deeply comforting.
After seven years of psychiatric treatment, I found a community psychiatry project: a different kind of therapy. There, I understood that not everything is about doing or achieving. Sometimes, the most healing thing is simply being. Being with others and allowing ourselves to heal in company.
This piece is my way of expressing gratitude for human warmth: the silent tenderness of being accompanied, with no demands, with no hurry. A place where the light comes in softly and stays for a while.
