Super Moon

On August 31, 2023, the moon was at its closest approach in several years, 14% larger and up to 30% brighter than a supermoon, and it was also a blue moon, which is the second full moon in a month, not a blue moon, as legend has it that lovers can be together if they bathe in its light . Drift Ice Tour 2023

I painted this for the assignment "Cool Things. A mother polar bear watches her cubs swim, while a fur seal watches from afar. A mother polar bear watching her cubs swim, and a fur seal looking on from afar (or perhaps coveting them?). I hope they will not become extinct in the near future due to global warming.

Penguin parent and child
